‘America’s future and Trump’s fate’ rests in the fallout of ‘cities facing mayhem’

As the sun rises in the United States following another night of violent protests, seemingly “America’s future and Trump’s fate rests largely in the hands of mayors and governors” in cities and states facing mayhem Sky News host Chris Kenny says. Mr Kenny conducted a recap of the current situation in the United States and what has led to widespread protests, riots, looking and violence in the country following the death of unarmed African-American man George Floyd while in police custody. Mr Floyd died after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for more than eight minutes as he told them “I can’t breathe”. Mr Kenny said George Floyd’s brother Terrence “made a brave, respectful and inspirational visit to the very place his brother was killed so cruelly” and gave a statement on the incident and the legacy his brother has left. Mr Kenny also said US President Donald Trump “has tweeted too much and not said enough on this national challenge”. “No matter how ordinary his opponent is, the coronavirus has robbed Trump of a strong economy, so he can hardly afford to preside over widespread failures in law and order”.
