A teenage girl has died after being hit by a school bus in Ulladulla on the NSW South Coast.

Emergency services were called to South Street following reports a child had been hit by a bus outside a school about 3pm.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, the girl died at the scene.

She is a student of the school but is yet to be formally identified.

The bus driver was breath tested at the scene, returning a negative result.

They will be taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
